Reporting to the Senior Mechanic, the 310T/ 310S Mechanic, will be responsible for servicing and repairing trucks, trailers, heavy equipment, etc. in a safe, efficient, and effective manner. They will accurately fill out service orders & ensure accurate accounts of parts used while contributing to the overall success of the shop team.

Reporting to the Senior Mechanic, the 310T/ 310S Mechanic, will be responsible for servicing and repairing trucks, trailers, heavy equipment, etc. in a safe, efficient, and effective manner. They will accurately fill out service orders & ensure accurate accounts of parts used while contributing to the overall success of the shop team.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues
- Repair or replace faulty components
- Conduct inspections and perform preventative maintenance tasks
- Keep daily accurate records of work performed and parts used
- Keep Fleet coordinator up to date on vehicle/repair status
- Test vehicles and equipment to ensure proper functionality before returning to service
- Collaborate with team members to identify and resolve complex problems
- Participate in weekly safety talks
- Onsite & Roadside Service Calls
- Work in compliance with Company Health and safety policies and OHSA standards.
- Keep neat and organized records of services
- General Housekeeping
- Other duties as assigned and required
Qualifications
- 3+ years’ experience as a 310T/ 310 S mechanic, working in a fleet management or transportation environment.
- Licensed 310T/310 S (Truck and Coach)
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and other automotive systems.
- Welding and fabrication skills with the ability to perform repairs and modifications as needed.
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and software for troubleshooting vehicle and equipment issues.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work on a varied schedule, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Ability to work in an “on-call” and “off-site” capacity on occasion
- Computer knowledge utilizing email, Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, etc is considered an asset
- Physical strength and stamina to handle the demands of the job, including lifting heavy objects and working in confined spaces.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
